Wheat Ridge: One of the Happiest Cities in America
Located in Jefferson County, Wheat Ridge is one of the happiest cities in America. The city has a population of just over 30,000 and is home to many attractions including the Metzger Haus Museum, which houses artifacts from early settlers on both sides of the Oregon Trail. One of the most popular attractions is the Wheat Ridge Historical Society. This museum houses artifacts from early settlers on both sides of the Oregon Trail, as well as tools and appliances used by area residents in days gone by. In addition to that, there are many other museums such as Metzger Haus Museum which features Western Americana items. The city of Wheat Ridge is so well-known for its museums that it has earned the nickname “Museum City”. Another popular attraction is Clear Creek Park which features 17 acres worth of recreation space complete with picnic areas, ball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, and hiking trails through wooded hillsides. Edora Park offers many similar amenities.
